How unforgettable is the whoosh of the bold and beautiful Kererū flyingthrough the bush and crash-landing into a tree? Imagine a century ago seeing100 of these beauties powering together through the skies. The Kererū isliterally our only bird left big enough to disperse the seeds of our largestnative trees, so they’re a life saver for the likes of Tawa and Karaka. Onceupon a time plump Kererū made tasty eating for Maori but they’re nowprotected, giving them the cheeky nickname ‘illegal tegel’. Who doesn’tneed a Kererū in their life?
Our Kererū is:

Our birds are designed with 3mm CorTen steel to form a protective patina thatdeepens and strengthens with the seasons. This patina will deepen in shade overthe years until it reaches a deep brown/charcoal black hue.
This self-sealing aspect of CorTen steel provides a quality guarantee of upto 100 years, ensuring that our product lasts a lifetime and remains completelycorrosion resistent.
What might initially resemble generic rust is simply the air and water-tightpatina forming over a six month period, so don’t panic! Your Metalbird isdoing exactly what it’s been designed to do, and this patina will protect thesteel from any further damage and disintegration.
CorTen steel does not require any treatments, oils or chemical additives andis therefore extremely environmentally friendly.
Delivery Times
We use CourierPost for most orders, which allows for fast and reliable delivery to destinations across their comprehensive domestic network. Delivery times are 1-2 working days but can vary depending on a product's stock status and the intended delivery address.
Heavy and Bulky Goods
Larger products will be shipped via Mainfreight. Please allow an extra 1-3 days for heavy and bulky goods like chairs and desks.
New Zealand Delivery Rates
Most of our products ship for $4.90 to $8.90 NZD per shipment, not including heavy and bulky goods. An accurate shipping cost will be calculated during the checkout process.

Most orders are shipped using New Zealand Post and these parcels are shipped with no-signature required. For our heavy and bulky goods, these are shipped via Mainfreight with signature required.
