Just a bit taller than a rugby ball on its end, the Kororā is theworld’s smallest (and cutest) penguin. And what a worker! It’ll spend allday in the ocean busily catching fish, then trudge up to 1.5km to theirnests – in the dark – to hungry chicks!
Because of kiwis’ love for coastal property, many Kororā are now nestingunder houses and even in stormwater pipes and attacks by dogs and otherpredators have sent their numbers into decline.
